Yoga Nidra can be translated to “Yogic Sleep”.  Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice that is both a form of meditation and a mind-body therapy. It is a systematic form of guided relaxation.  Yoga Nidra has many benefits which include deep relaxation, release of chronic stress, more restful sleep, resolution to many of life’s issues, and a greater sense of harmony in daily life and relationships.  Guided by the teacher’s voice, you identify sensations throughout your body and focus on your breath, while remaining in a state of relaxed awareness so that you may release deeply held tensions.  We will start by developing an intention for our life and for the practice. Then we will focus our awareness on our breath, bodily sensations, emotions, and thoughts. Throughout the practice we will tap into an underlying sense of peace that is always present.  The entire workshop will be practiced lying down on a mat with soft blankets and bolsters for added comfort and support.  One hour of Yoga Nidra is said to equate to 4 hours of restful sleep.  No prior yoga experience is needed to participate in this workshop.

Cost: $20 / $15 for members  ($25 for all students after 4/27/19)
