If you hear from your students regularly about back pain and issues, you are not alone. Over 80
percent of all Americans have reported experiencing some form of back pain, with some issues
resolving in weeks and some leading to long term problems. Helping our students experience
relief and even helping to resolve or prevent long term issues requires a unique skill set.
Evidence supports short- and long-term benefits of yoga to ease chronic low back pain.

Join Aneela Cox, MD , RYT 200 and Pam Ronstadt, E-RYT 500 for a level 1 training designed to
help yoga teachers understand the mechanics of the back, some of the most common problems
that students present with and how the practice of yoga can fit into the overall remedy for
healthy living.

In this 15-hour training you can expect:

-Overview of some of the most common issues of the back, including scoliosis, herniated discs, L4/L5 issues, sciatica, osteoporosis
-3 specialized classes practiced together to help understand the unique approach in a back-care class
-Exploration of the mechanics and anatomy of the back at both a skeletal and muscular level
-Postures and modifications designed to address specific issues with the back in a generalized and specialized classroom setting
-The subtle anatomy of the back
-Pranayama that helps sooth and support back recovery

One hour of personal self-study will be required 15 CEU’s available for this training
